- Working in a small team with five colleagues.
- Alternating office jobs and checks in the warehouse.
- Administrative processing of transport orders.
- processing in planning system.
- generating loading lists and barcode labels.
- Physically checking incoming groupage shipments.
- Applying barcode labels to shipments.
- You track ongoing shipments in the system.
- Maintaining telephone contact between customers and system partners.
- Making loading and/or unloading appointments with customers.
The wide range of duties and variation mean you will pick things up fast. You also take responsibility. It’s not theory! Dispatch is something you learn in practice. Your direct colleagues will help you and train you to become a dispatch clerk/planner.
Nothing beats getting all shipments on route as a team every day, and then achieve such a performance again the next day. Yet every day is different, so you learn every day and can grow with the organisation. Who wouldn’t want that?
